AMISA's Quarterly Free Women's Practical Self Defense seminars.
AMISA's Women's Self-Defense Seminar is a free, quarterly class open to the community, built to teach practical, real-world self-defense skills. No martial arts experience is required.
Format & Schedule
The seminar is held over a two-day period each quarter:
Saturday: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Quarterly scheduling may vary depending on instructor availability or enrollment numbers.
Please Note: This Is Not a Child-Friendly Class
This seminar covers realistic self-defense scenarios and includes physical contact drills that are not appropriate for children. Children will not be permitted to watch or be present in the training area. Please arrange childcare in advance of your seminar date.
Bring a Partner (Optional)
Women are encouraged to bring a significant other to participate alongside them for comfort and support during partner-based tactics. If a partner isn't available, don't let that stop you — appropriate equipment will be provided so you can practice those same tactics solo.
What to Expect
Participants will practice joint manipulation and striking and should be prepared to work with striking pads as part of the training. A minimum of two qualified AMISA instructors are present at all times throughout the seminar.
Enrollment & Capacity
Minimum enrollment to hold the course: 10 participants
Maximum capacity: 20 participants (not including significant others)
Seminars are free to attend, but spots fill quickly — early registration is encouraged.
Location
All seminars are held at our European Fitness Center location in Reno, NV.
