The current official DDC youth uniform is a 6–7 oz single-weave karate-style gi — practical, durable, and cost-effective for growing students. Children go through uniforms quickly, and we deliberately selected this style to keep replacement costs manageable for families. A heavier double-weave judogi is available for students who prefer it, but this is our standard recommendation and fully appropriate for all DDC curriculum requirements. The uniform is a training and safety tool — proper attire becomes necessary as students advance into certain martial concepts and techniques.
